Mrs. Winner has served as faculty for the International Association of Pastel Societies in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, the Portrait Society of America in Washington, DC, Boston, and Dallas, American Artist Magazine Art Methods and Materials in Pasadena, Richeson School of Art and Gallery, Wisconsin, Pearl Paint, NYC, Learning and Product Expo Chicago, North American Art Event by Holbein in Vermont, the Pearl Paint Great American Art Event in New York City, Amelia Island Art Workshops, Fernandina Beach, Florida, Jerry’s Art of the Carolinas in North Carolina and various art centers, museums, and galleries on the east coast. She has recently returned from France, teaching by invitation at the “Pastels en Perigord international pastel exposition in Saint Aulaye, France near Bordeaux. She is continues her work as North Carolina Ambassador for the Portrait Society of America and a member of their international portfolio review committee. Luana is Past President of Artspace Artist Association, a major art complex with working studios, galleries, and a teaching center, and also Past President of the Pastel Society of North Carolina. She is a Master’s Circle pastelist with the International Association of Pastel Societies. Her new F&W Media Publisher, North Light Book, “Painting Classic Portraits: Great Faces Step by Step” has become the “go to” hard bound instructional book for painting people. Articles have appeared in International Artist Magazine, The Artist, American Artist, The Art of the Portrait, Signature, Strathmore’s on-line Magazine, and other periodicals. Luana is author of four workbooks, numerous papers, and numerous instructional DVD’s. Three new DVD’s by Luana have been released in July 2014 by F&W Media, North Light DVD, an artistsnetwork.tv production. Three Person Exhibition - Tuscany - Panzano, Italy
Il Palagio Vineyard and Winery will be hosting a three personal exhibition of new works by Luana Luconi Winner, Fred Luconi of Naples, Florida, and L.M. Boring of Mariel-Marly, France. All three artists will be in attendance to discuss their artwork and autograph their books. Lectures and special events will be announced in spring.

Have some fun at the coast with a two-day workshop of painting facts that will improve and build the skills of artists of all levels. Work in your favorite medium, and watch demos designed especially for you. Drawing, proportions, and color mixtures are a few of the first day’s topics. Bring images for critique during a working lunch and have plenty of time to complete a project of your choice. The second day, if the class agrees, a live model will be provided or you may work from your own reference material to try out a few “great faces.” The goal of the workshop is to improve technique and handling of the materials and lift you back into the fun part of painting … with new results!

Recreating the 18th Century Portrait of William Pitt, Prime Minister of England and First Earl of Chatham
Come to watch a lively demonstration of the commissioning of the copy for a Courthouse in North Carolina, to study, research, and information gathering from the National Portrait Gallery in London, to the paint manufacturer Gamblin in Oregon, to the color experts and others at the North Carolina Museum of Art to recreate the Prime Minister’s 50 x 40 oil portrait. It will be a permanent installation in the Chatham County Courthouse in Pittsboro, North Carolina (the town and county are named after Mr. Pitt) when the construction is completed after a devastating fire in 2010.
