The Process

The portrait begins with a planning and sketching session.

Graphite compositional sketches will be prepared from a an in-person sitting at clients home, office, or location of choice.

A final design for the painting will be chosen from those graphite designs presented.

Additional sittings or meetings will then be scheduled to complete the painting as are convenient to the client.

(Shown at right is a final sitting of a portrait begun in client's garden.)

A deposit will be accepted for one-third of the total agreed price at the time of engagement and the sittings are scheduled.

The balance will then follow in thirds at mid-completion and at final delivery.

Framing will be discussed during the planning stages of the portrait. The artist will, at the client's request, arrange for the framing of the final painting.

Framing, travel, and related expenses, if required, will be billed at the final payment.
